• Rear Diff Pinion Mount Modular Performance Polyurethane Bushing

These bushings replace the rubber pinion mount for the rear with a modular bushing consisting of 3 separate durometer bushings specific to load. 

Set includes 2-Bushing sets for to replace both bushings on the rear carrier.  These are complete replacements including:

  • upper bushing 90 durometer
  • case bushing 100 durometer (basically as firm as solid aluminum)
  • capture bushing on bottom. (softer bushing to fill void at bottom of housing)
  • Crush tube and grease also included  
  • Factory lower cap washers are retained to compress stack together.

a shop press or ball joint service tool is strongly suggested for ease of install and a slide hammer to remove the old bushings.

The rear diff consists of a upper washer and bonded bushing plus the bushing that is installed into the housing on all applications besides the IS which has a single peice bonded bushing. Remove installed bushing with either a press service tool or in the case of the IS300 alternating blows with a air chisel in each of the 3 releived locations will eventually work it loose.   

Once the case mount is removed, press new case cylinder in, followed but the crush tube lubricated with grease. Install top cap bushing onto crush tube.  Install housing onto subframe mount and insert conical bushing narrow side up onto crush tube.  Install factory cap washer and torque to factory spec.

 Place conical bushing on bottom and compress with stock cap.

 

On applications that have the separate pad on top, the blog covers the installation.  Note that the early GS and SC applications have a polarized tube on our bushings to allow the shouldered bolt to pass through. Take care to install it properly with the reamed side down.
